One problem which concerns me greatly is the lack of available AA literature discussing early stages only. It seems to me that if cases and discussions of alcoholism that had not advanced, were available, it would be easier for people like me to identify ourselves. It is very hard to hang onto the belief that you are an alcoholic when time after time you hear of hospital cases, jails, children neglected, doctors called in, jobs lost and none of this has happened to you.
