PARIS REPORT: Even the gendarmes very gently but surely asked this beautiful young French woman to spend 90 days in a psychiatric hospital. . ."on account of my special way of driving a car

THANKS to AA and the French AA Group in Paris, my whole life changed so much that my family offered me the trip to New York, just for the time of the 12th Annual Conference meeting. As a matter of fact, when I asked my father for permission to come to New York for two weeks, I had been physically sober for about two months, and my way of thinking was still very drunk. I knew and realized it, but I wanted to come so badly, and still I was so scared that I would not be able to represent the French Group, that I just decided to work on AA as much as I possibly could. I read Bill's book, Joseph Kessel's book, and I listened very hard to what our old-timers in France did tell in the meetings--by the way, I want to point out that the oldest member in Paris has added up a year and a half of sobriety.
