Of the two disabilities afflicting my life, the worse by far is an addiction to alcohol. But through Alcoholics Anonymous I have been freed from this major tragedy. If my second disability could be removed by merely returning to a life of drunkenness, then I should without hesitation retain--and even embrace--my blindness.
