Recently I was released from Milan, Michigan, after having come into AA about ten months before. When I decided that on my release I would go to New York, get a job and continue my schooling, the problem of facing the world without a drink loomed before me. I contacted a member from an outside group, who had carried the message to us in the institution, and told him of my fears. He understood, and when he left that afternoon he called GSO. The staff member contacted a local AA member who agreed to meet me at the bus station.
