I HAD listened sceptically, I must admit, to those who spoke of the release from fear that came with a complete faith--faith in our fellow human beings and faith in God. True, I gratefully acknowledged a release from mistrust and suspicion that followed so closely on an acceptance of the philosophy of AA; but experiencing this inner peace, that must come through faith without fear, was something I envied without ever expecting to acknowledge.
