Less sure, but happy

I believe that open-mindedness is like humility. The minute you say you are humble you lose it and the same with open-mindedness. With me a person was either good or he was bad; honest or dishonest. I used "half measures avail us nothing" as a quote to back up my argument. My theme was that there was no room for half measures and if you said you were grateful I expected you to show it at all times, or if you didn't you were a phony. At the same time I felt I had an open mind, but I failed to allow for bad days on the part of others, or for the plain simple fact that we are human and make mistakes. I allowed for them as far as I went but couldn't extend this same open-mindedness to others.
