1961 on a hot July afternoon in the Palmer House Hotel restaurant a miracle--an AA man carried the message to a woman in great despair; ill and alone. She drank iced tea, he coffee. She does not remember his name, only that he was passing through and was taking a plane. He told his story, bade her goodbye. That was three years ago. She has been a member of AA since, with never a slip.
