THE Insider's Newsletter states that "some wives have to have a souse around the house. And they may have to go through several husbands to find an alcoholic dependable enough to stay drunk. . . . Women who grow up with a deep-seated distrust of strong, stable, sober husbands develop acute anxiety if they are long associated with such a man. These women usually marry several times, mostly alcoholics. If their drinkers reform or they err and marry a non-tippler, divorce comes fast."
