The Anecdote Bin

Dedicated to the lighter side of our common problem

COUPLE more Associated Press items here. One states that the word booze originated from Mr. E. C. Booz, a Kentucky distiller who packaged his product in dark-brown glass. (Wonder if he claimed the stuff had a dark-brown taste?) It seems to us we've run this news flash before, but valuable information should be repeated until everybody has read it. The other clipping reports that medical researchers in London have come to the conclusion that there is no cure for a hangover. In the course of experiments, they tried all the old formulas on their subjects--raw eggs, milk, and even a new theory of standing on their heads--but nothing worked. We never could figure out why scientists spend so much time and effort trying to get at facts that any AA has discovered and proved by diligent personal research.
