Homeward Bound

"Homeward Bound," a pamphlet from Al-Anon, is written for relatives and friends of alcoholics who are or have been in institutions. But, in describing how the family may overcome feelings of stigma, loneliness, and resentment, this little pamphlet is good reading for anyone who has an alcoholic spouse, friend or relative. The need for institutional care, and a clear definition of alcoholism, as a disease, will help the hurt and bewildered family to understand. And it will give them hope, whether the alcoholic in question is in an institution, or sober in AA, or still raising Old Nick around the house.
