My Name Is--Don

MY mother and her family were strong-willed, determined people, with a stubborn sense of duty and responsibility. In Mother's opinion, anyone who had trouble with drink was a weak-willed derelict who needed only to "take hold of himself and be a man!" Mother looked upon all drunks with contempt rather than understanding and she drilled this attitude into me at an early age.
