I am not the greatest correspondent--I mean my letter writing ability is not all it should be, but I am sure if I were to receive a letter, I would answer it and whoever the recipient was could decipher what I was trying to say. I know it would help me to receive any kind of letter. Sometimes not being able to get to meetings a guy gets just to the end of the line and then if a letter comes and it just says, "Hi friend! Keep Sober!"--well, I would stay sober--I mean it would help a lot because I would know that on other ships in other parts of the world there are guys going through the same thing. They would be relying on me to keep the AA message going and I would be relying on them. This is what I find so wonderful about AA--this knowing that someone is always with you, rooting for you, and that they actually care.
