I was very saddened, as all of us surely must be, to learn of the death of Dr. Shoemaker. His contribution to the AA movement was immeasurable. How fortunate we are that he wrote his interpretation of the Steps. I have read and reread his article and find more wisdom in it each time. (Grapevine, January '64.)
