CHARLIE M. sends from St. Louis a sheaf of newspaper clippings including three pertinent (but not AA) definitions, the first of which explains that a bartender is a guy who is quick on the jigger. This leads naturally to the second item: A friendly alcoholic is always shaking hands even when nobody is around. The third has to do with the drunk who apparently stays away from bars but tries to pull himself out of trouble with a corkscrew. All of which reminds us that although a fifth will go into three with none left over, there may be one to carry.
