Only a Gimmick!

AT the close of the meeting, after the secretary's report, many of us have heard the 'chip girl,' with her box of red, white and blue poker chips, say, "In this group we have the chip system: A white chip for twenty-four hours to three months sobriety, a red chip for three months to six months and a blue chip for six months to one year. The ladies carry them in their change purses, the men in their pockets. If you take a drink, break your chip. When you come back, you'll have a chance at another white one."
