The Quadruple Excuse
About five years ago--it was the first year jet aircraft were in use on our commercial airlines--I was ticketed on a jet scheduled to leave Los Angeles for New York at 11:00 P.M. We were held on the ground till about 1:00 A.M. waiting for weather clearance. Then, just after take off, we had an engine flame-out.
