The Anecdote Bin

SPEAKING of pints, a man in Atlanta drew a 30-day sentence as a prowler five years ago but is still in jail. Seems that when his 30 days were almost up he broke out and was nabbed again for a longer term. This has happened four times. A judge finally asked him how come. "I just get that old liquor in my head," the man told him. Asked where he got the booze, the prisoner said he and two other escapees bought two pints at a service station. The judge didn't pursue the matter. "I figure it wasn't up to me," he told reporters, "to find out how they got it wearing prison uniforms." Anyhow, five years in the clink seems a high price to pay for four chances at a jug.
