Carrying the Message

This will be my third Christmas sober which for me is still a wonderful thing. I always remember a Christmas of about six years back when I had gone on one of my usual benders starting about the twenty-second of December--that was the year I decided I would cook the turkey for Xmas dinner. My intentions were good for I started to roast the bird on or about the twenty-third, but that is as far as I got. People kept calling and more and more cocktails and "shorts" were being consumed. I got as high as the Empire State and finally took the turkey out of the oven on the thirtieth of December.
