Christmas Past

His recollection of the years in the shadows heightens the joy of this sober Christmas

WHENEVER my thoughts turn toward Christmas with its happiness now, and new friends and old friendships regained, and relatives gladly accepting me, and even invitations to visit them, and gifts (not to be sold or pawned) upon a tree, I always remember our first miserable and disastrous Christmas in Miami years before I came into AA.
