Carrying the Message

Except for difference in sex, Dr. J. C.'s experiences in the classroom, ("The Absent-minded Professor," November issue) fit me so perfectly that they made me shudder. Almost always I had to ask the students where I left off at the last lecture. And those alcoholically messed up exams: lecture on one subject and give an exam on something quite different. I have kept some of those old exam papers. Not only were they corrected late, but correction accuracy seemed to have an error factor of plus or minus 50% depending on the stage of the daily drunk.
