AA in Florida Road Prisons

A young inmate and AA member reports on progress

AT present there are twenty-five successful AA groups in Florida correctional institutions, with a membership of over 600 inmates. I personally attribute this program's success to the serene unity an inmate can find in Alcoholics Anonymous. And with unity, there is also understanding. Having someone understand one's needs, desires and ambitions is, perhaps, an inmate's greatest need.
