The Anecdote Bin

NOW that we've dragged the gals into this, here's an anecdote we don't quite dig (but which we include here in case we miss the point) from a reader in Agawam, Massachusetts. It seems that Margaret, the sponsor of Joni, while telling Joni's mother how her daughter was able to accumulate continuous sobriety, explained it was largely due to Joni's ability to stay away from one drink, one day at a time. Exclaimed Joni's mother, "Gosh! She'll never get anywhere that way!"
