... I cried: .. . let me get back home.
At the age of fourteen I had my first bout with alcohol and it won by two drinks; I passed out. Next morning I awoke with a feeling of guilt, plus a sensation of joy that for a little while, at least, I didn't have to face how utterly incapable I was at grasping any form of learning at school.
