Fear of Living Drunk/Fear of Living Sober

AT a recent discussion meeting devoted to the meaning of sanity as used in the Second Step, a member mentioned a "fear of living sober" which he had while drinking and which he had to seek to overcome in AA. While he had this intense fear of living sober, he had tried the escape route so well known to alcoholics and sought "to live drunk."
