ACTUALLY, I never had any compelling reason to drink in the first place, if you want to discount a rather peculiar childhood--and who can't lay claim to one of those? I drank because I liked it and, because, although I was not aware of it at the time, I am an alcoholic. Not that I thought so then. Nervous, yes, and high-strung, of course, but never that!
