Is Your Group Wishy-washy?

How one group tried Tom Sawyer's tactic and found new unity and strength

OUR group changed over the years, in personality as well as individual members, and as a result of the change we developed a dual problem: It became more and more difficult to find members who associated themselves mentally (or do I mean emotionally?) with the group. They were 'members of AA' rather than 'members of the Such-and-Such Group.' Secondly, as a result of that it became harder to find those who would accept responsibility for group duties.
