The Anecdote Bin
SOMEONE submitted a clipping from the Washington Post which reads: "The remark has been made that dangerous things excite a fatal fascination in men--alcohol, dope and autos. The exclusion of women from the list is going to irritate every woman who reads this." The author might have been columnist Bill Gold, who is credited with the following anecdote from the same source. A fellow, still suffering from his adventures of the night before, walked into his favorite pub the next day and asked for two aspirins. "And don't," he admonished the bartender, "slam the lid on the box."
