THE Grapevine depends for its sales on individual subscriptions and bulk sales to AA groups. Some groups order many copies, some a few, and some none at all. The difference in the number of copies sold depends of course on the size of the group, but two groups the same size will differ a great deal in their total purchase, and the explanation always lies in the fact that the group making the bigger purchase has in it someone who likes to sell Grapevines to AA members, who believes it will help them to live the AA life.
