Afterthought on Atheists
QUITE often in reading through AA literature I come upon observations by agnostics and atheists who have made a successful go of the program without apparent benefit of God. The agnostic position gives me no special pause because agnostics are praying, albeit implicitly, to a Power greater than themselves "if there be one." They are indeed praying to the God of tradition, even though they have not been able to focus Him in their devotional sights.
