Minority Report on the Fourth of July

Firecrackers give her the leaps, and then there are those endless booze sessions. . .

ANOTHER Fourth of July holiday is coming up. Even after six dry years I always have the feeling of being left out. Everybody all around is drinking and having such a good, noisy time--just what I used to be able to do before I became an alcoholic. For many people holidays mean drinking bouts. They probably feel awful the next morning, but that's part of the celebration to them. At least I feel fine the morning after! I'm tired, but what a relief to have that twenty-four hours behind me!
