Carrying the Message

Not alone

A cup of coffee, a typewriter and an ex-drunk is what is trying to send this letter to you from the frozen north along James Bay. I was just having a meeting here all alone with my Grapevine when I decided to try and write a word of thanks. It is a bit odd saying thanks, but since I joined AA I have learned that there is such a word and what it is used for. AA has taught me many things since that day when I joined, shaking like a leaf. I think of that day and thank God. I didn't want to admit I was an alcoholic because I still had what we like to call pride. I wonder how many kinds of pride I had, since I had nothing to be proud about. I honestly had nothing much left of anything.
