I Was a Perpetual Private

A soldier, now in Vietnam, and no longer a private, tells how he found AA

I ENLISTED in the Army at an early age, and while the Korean conflict was in high gear. Through high-school I developed quite a taste for alcohol, and in the Army I devoted most of my off-duty and some of my on-duty time to the consumption of it. Needless to say, this resulted in some foggy days, a number of reductions in rank, and a few severe chewings out.
