HERB CAEN of the San Francisco Chronicle advised his teen-age readers that if they wanted to soak off the cover of a certain Beatle Album to uncover the "banned" cover underneath, they should soak the album in Daddy's gin, as the glue used was insoluble in water. A week later the following incident was reported.
