Ask an AA If God Is Dead

Recent theological publicity stimulated this AA's review of an important conviction

THE recent "Is God Dead" controversy that has been crowding the pages of newspapers and magazines and drawing reverberations from pulpits around the world sounds to many AAs like the quaint babbling of precocious but inexperienced children. Our reaction is bound to be like that of Roman Catholic playwright William Alfred, who is quoted in Time (April 8, 1966, p. 83) as saying: "People who tell me there is no God are like a six-year-old boy saying there is no such thing as passionate love--they just haven't experienced it."
