Seven choices for mature living - The fifth in a series of six articles

FINALLY, on my list of six choices, is greatness. There are many facets to greatness and it is an overused word. But I really cannot find another word that carries the meaning. So, greatness it is, and it is a choice for every one of us. And it isn't what was meant in a recent New Yorker magazine cartoon in which we see a beefy, sluggish, old guy in his undershirt and suspenders sitting with his can of beer in front of the TV. To one side his wife is saying to her friend, "George wasn't born great; he hasn't achieved greatness, but he still hopes that greatness will be thrust upon him."
