Once Over Lightly

CONVERSATIONS in bars are probably among the most meaningless dissertations that we have had to listen to (since the advent of sobriety, only now and again). We noted one evening that four of the barflies spent a good part of the time in heated discussions. There were, in fact, four discussions running concurrently. Each man had his own subject and seemed not to notice that the other three were stoutly defending something else entirely.
