Carrying the Message

One hour at a time

Yesterday I had only a few moments to encourage a friend--newly embarked on our AA way of life. I tried, quickly, to think of all the "gimmicks" I found it necessary to use, in order to arrive at my 365th twenty-four hours of sobriety. I remembered very clearly my worst moment, when temptation nearly made me say, "What's the use?" It was in the winter of 1964.
