My Name Is Annie
An alcoholic's own story
MY name is Annie and I am an alcoholic. With twenty-two years of hard practice I drank myself into a state almost beyond recovery. Everything I touched and everyone I knew seemed to suffer from my drinking. I had completely given up hope of ever gaining any Self-respect and being able to be a wife and mother again. I had come to be looked upon by my family as a drunk who dropped in now and then to sleep it off and give a few orders as to how things should be done.
