High-water Mark

My wife had given me a letter to mail and, as husbands sometimes do, I forgot to mail it--and so I opened it to see what urgent business I had messed up. Believe it or not, my wife had her last drink on Jan. 10, 1952, but the letter is a high-water mark for confusion.
