In a New Zealand prison: Four walls enclose him day and night, but they don't keep out the AA message

THROUGH circumstance, I am a loner. Four walls guard me night and day. My window looks out on a guard tower, where an armed guard watches over me, protecting me from myself, protecting society from me. Behind this tower roll the green hills of freedom, dotted with sheep and swaying trees. The horizon melts away in the distance, yet my horizon climbs over those hills and treetops. It goes beyond oceans to eleven countries--beyond my vision, but within my mind.
