Carrying the Message

Need for Easy Does It

Many members over here feel that the message must be carried on at any price, and there are, here and there, demands for increased activity. This was my thought at first, too. But I have the feeling: Should we not, each one of us, first learn to understand and try to live according to the Twelve Steps? There are so many feverishly busy at arranging big meetings, social activities, etc. And in these activities they seem to forget that this is a spiritual movement and that there is need for strengthening our relationship with the Higher Power, in order to gain the peace of mind and gratitude for our sobriety that the application of the Twelve Steps in our daily lives can give us. Can we by tension achieve peace of mind? I believe not.
