Carrying the Message

We have a fellow in our area who brags of a long period of continuous sobriety. He always manages to work it into the conversation, as if it were important for people to know this. I fail to be impressed, however, because I know that he has no guarantee of being sober tomorrow, any more than the rest of us have.
