Helped in prison

After reading the prison articles in the October issue, I have decided to write because, like the AAs who wrote in the Grapevine, I found AA in prison--Jamesville Penitentiary in 1945. The first time I got mixed up with the law, it was caused by alcohol. In September of 1959, after innumerable arrests, I went before the judge again. I could have gotten thirty years to life in jail. I had lost my home, husband, and four children, and all my family disowned me. But the judge gave me six months.
