Hail, Perseverance Group of Tobago Island!

An AA writes gratefully of experience, strength, and hope shared at an Easter meeting on a "blessedly balmy island

YESTERDAY I sloshed through cold rain to the drugstore to pick up the pictures I had taken during a recent visit to Tobago. Shortly thereafter, as I looked at the prints in my living room, I was transported in spirit to that blessedly balmy island some two thousand miles south and east of New York. I saw again, in vivid color, the profuse pink and red blooms of hibiscus and oleander, the gracefulness of coconut palms leaning across white-sand beaches to green lagoons. Not least, I saw the one-room Infants' School, near the town of Scarborough, where the Perseverance Group of AA meets. And in the dusty schoolyard, bordered by flowers, I saw again the smiling, sober alcoholics of Tobago.
