Special-speaker Syndrome

It feels terrible to be up there with the expectation you'll knock 'em dead

NOW I'M in for it! I've been asked to be a Special Speaker. There is no use trying to squirm out of it. If I start hedging, I'll only wind up telling myself, "I may not think of myself as a speaker, but when I am asked I ought to get up and try to share my strength, hope, and experiences as best I can." Reluctant I may be, but I can't talk my way out of that reply.
