Of Cakes and Ale
She thought it was time to get drunk, but she couldn't. She had to bake a cake.
INVOLVEMENT. Participation. Service. These are important to our continued sobriety in AA, the winners tell us. These concepts would have been Greek to me when I first dabbled with the program--and yet my own early experience bears out the wisdom of this advice. For I can say quite honestly that I owe my sobriety to a cake.
