JIM GLANCED up from the breakfast table and gazed around the room. He smiled faintly, and a warm glow of appreciation invaded him as he heard his wife, Betty, gently humming an almost forgotten tune from yesterday as she busied herself in the preparation of today's festive meal. The Christmas tree stood in the corner of the room, its tinsel glory defying a sordid world, crowned by the same old angel with the broken wing, rescued once again from her attic hibernation.
