My Name Is. . .

An alcoholic's own story

I AM ONE of those alcoholics in whom the disease was arrested before it cost me my worldly goods, my job, or my family. What it did cost me was more than any of these--my self-respect. And that loss was what made me finally acknowledge to myself that I was an alcoholic and decide to do something about it.
