Nowhere else in the world can you get the fellowship of AA. In 1947 I was the town drunk of Almonte. I was laughed at by friends, neighbors, doctors, and everyone. I was given up by all. My wife saw a notice in the Ottawa Journal, an ad asking anyone with a drinking problem to contact Box 38, Ottawa, Ont. So we wrote to them. Four men drove forty miles to come to see me. When they came, I was drunk and sick and didn't know what they were talking about.
