are Psychiatry and AA Incompatible?

YOU ARE an alcoholic with some years of sobriety, and I am a psychiatrist! We are experts! You have probably had so many years of concentrated education about the effects of alcohol upon the human mind and body, and you have given such a large number of talks to so many audiences that you have undoubtedly reached the point where you know more about this one subject than about anything else in the world. I have had some thirty years of education and practice as a psychiatrist in a large city, jam-packed with people who have troubles, some of whom I have treated, so that I have reached a similar point in that, if I am knowledgeable about any subject, this is it.
